12-year-old boy starts foundation to help homeless

Eimers is Extraordinary

Robby Eimers isn't your ordinary kid, according to Mitch Albom, a native Detroiter and renown author, journalist, screenwriter, playwright, radio and television broadcaster and musician, who featured Eimers in one of his Heart of Detroit broadcast segments aired of WDIV TV.

Robby doesn't spend his free time kicking back and watching video games. Instead, he devotes much of his free time hosting fundraising events  to help Detroit's less fortunate through the organization he founded, called the Eimers Foundation.

"I knew there was some homeless people but I didn't know there was like that many, so I just thought we need to start doing this a little more," said Robby in his Heart of Detroit interview segment.

Today, he is well-known among the homeless, who consider Eimer one of their friends.

This ambitious young man, who serves up to 300 residents in need weekly, knows that without his support, some people would remain hungry or cold.

That's why he encourages others to give to his foundation.
