On any given day, 22% of kids between the ages of 6 and 19 eat pizza.
On days they have pizza, children eat an average of 408 extra calories. Teens consume 624 more.
Pizza was also only second to soda and sports drinks, in terms of providing the most calories to the daily diets of teens ages 12-19.
Studies show that although kids often shy away from "green" pizza toppings, they will eat other vegetable toppings like onions, as well as mushrooms , which technically are not a vegetable, but a fungi.
